About the Role
MSD's commercial Insights, Analytics and Data team in Hyderabad is hiring a generalist data scientist. You will work in a scrum team with data scientists, analysts and data engineers on projects across areas like oncology and vaccines. The work ranges from dashboards and reporting to machine learning and statistical models, built and deployed on AWS.

MSD (known as Merck & Co. in the US and Canada) is a global healthcare company that makes medicines and vaccines. Its Hyderabad centre runs analytics and technology work for the company.
What You'll Do
- 1Build machine learning and statistical models, sometimes from scratch and sometimes from a prototype
- 2Run descriptive statistics and support data visualization platforms
- 3Write modular code so models can scale and run efficiently
- 4Develop and deploy models in the cloud on AWS
- 5Work with scrum teammates and business partners across therapeutic areas
- 6Present work to executive and business stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of industry experience (can be waived for exceptional candidates)
- Strong Python and SQL skills; SageMaker experience is a plus
- Understanding of statistics and machine learning basics
- Able to build quick dashboards in Power BI, Qlik Sense or similar tools
- Strong communication skills; an MS or PhD in a quantitative field is preferred
