About the Role
As a Software Engineer on the Cloud Governance team, youll build systems that enable 5,000+ Red Hat engineers to securely deploy across public clouds. This role combines policy engineering with platform development, creating guardrails for OpenShift clusters while maintaining developer velocity. Key projects include: developing policy-as-code frameworks with OPA/Gatekeeper, building multi-cloud cost optimization tools, and implementing GitOps workflows with ArgoCD. Youll contribute upstream to Kubernetes governance projects while solving unique challenges at Red Hats scale (managing 100K+ cloud resources). The position offers deep exposure to cloud security best practices, mentorship from principal engineers, and opportunities to present at KubeCon. Successful candidates will develop expertise in cloud financial operations while advancing Red Hats open governance initiatives.

What We're Looking For
- Bachelors in CS or 5+ years experience
- 3+ years Kubernetes/OpenShift
- 2+ years cloud infrastructure
- Proficiency in Python/Go
- Experience with policy engines
- Knowledge of cloud security
- Understanding of FinOps principles
- Contributions to OSS projects
- Bonus: Certified Kubernetes Administrator
