Site Reliability Engineer - Platform

Join Coinbase as a Site Reliability Engineer to uplift services and enhance operational excellence. You will work directly with product engineers to improve the reliability, availability, efficiency, and scalability of Coinbase systems.

• 1Improve observability, reliability, and availability by defining and measuring key metrics
• 2Build automation and improve systems to eliminate toil and operations work
• 3Collaborate with the core infrastructure team to performance tune and optimize cloud deployments
• 4Collaborate with Coinbase product teams to reduce service disruptions and automate incident response
• 5Proactively find and analyze reliability problems and implement software to create step-function improvements
• 6Educate, mentor, and hold the engineering team accountable to improve system reliability
• 7Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs
• 8Debug extremely difficult technical problems and improve system performance
• 9Review feature designs for cross-cutting projects and ensure architectural clarity
• 10Build pipelines to integrate with third-party vendors

• 2-5 years of experience in software engineering
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services
• Strong technical skills in system design and coding
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong skills in observability, debugging, and performance tuning
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and simply
• Strong interpersonal skills working with engineers at all levels
• Demonstrated critical thinking under pressure
• Willingness to dive into understanding and improving any layer of the stack
