What You'll Do
- 1Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- 26 to 9 years of experience in software or full stack development
- 3Strong backend experience in Java, with hands-on Kotlin experience or a clear willingness to become productive in it quickly
- 4Strong frontend experience with React (or Angular) and TypeScript/JavaScript
- 5Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party systems
- 6Hands-on experience with a cloud platform, preferably AWS (e.g., ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB)
- 7AI fluency: regular, practical use of AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) in your workflow, and good judgment in reviewing and validating AI-generated code
- 8Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design and query tuning
What We're Looking For
- Write clean, maintainable, testable code aligned with Toast engineering standards, and take an active part in code reviews
- Troubleshoot production issues in owned areas, contribute to root-cause analysis, and support the team during critical phases and on-call
- Deliver on commitments with predictable cycle time, and communicate progress, risks and dependencies early
- Own components or features end-to-end within established architectural patterns, while growing toward larger system ownership
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- 6 to 9 years of experience in software or full stack development
