About the Role

Join Lightly as a Machine Learning Engineer to contribute to deep learning solutions at a fast-growing AI startup. Your role will involve developing and maintaining software solutions for deep learning improvements, working with state-of-the-art technology such as self-supervised learning, model distillation, vision language models, and deep learning for computer vision. Lightly is an ETH spin-off that builds software solutions to help companies improve their deep learning models. The company focuses on addressing the challenge of managing large datasets for deep learning by developing software that identifies and works with the most relevant samples. What You'll Do

  • 1Develop and maintain software solutions for deep learning improvements.
  • 2Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
  • 3Work on the open-source Python package for self-supervised learning.
  • 4Add support for fine-tuning pre-trained models for downstream tasks.
  • 5Keep up with current research in self-supervised learning and multi-modal models.
  • 6Participate in and hold paper sessions about the latest papers in the field.
  • 7Represent the company at machine learning conferences and engage with the community.

What We're Looking For

  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in deep learning and computer vision, ideally in self-supervised learning.
  • Excellent Python coding skills and knowledge of software engineering best practices.
  • Experience with testing and typed Python.
  • Experience with building and shipping software solutions.
  • Strong passion for new technologies and interest in keeping up with the latest technologies and publications in deep learning.
