About the Role
As a Data Engineering Intern at Ballotpedia, you will work with the Tech team to develop automated ETL workflows to process data used for local election coverage. You will be involved in creating and modifying Python scripts, working with spreadsheets and databases, and developing processes to convert data into a standard format.
What You'll Do
- 1Create and modify Python scripts

- 3Scrape candidate data from official sources
- 4Develop processes to convert data into a standard format
- 5Run processes to ingest data into a database
- 6Conduct testing, QA, and manual review
- 7Perform online research and manual data entry
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with Python and SQL
- Familiarity with data analysis and ETL processes
- Knowledge of web scraping tools like Beautiful Soup or Scrapy
- Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
- Good communication skills
