Associate Engineer

As an Associate Engineer at Allstate, you will be responsible for implementing applications following 12-factor principles to build out the product and iterative enhancements. You will work on both front-end and back-end services, leveraging test-driven development and continuous integration to ensure agility and quality of products.

• 1Participate in iteration planning meetings to ensure a common understanding of each story and chore in the teams backlog.
• 2Engage in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product.
• 3Participate in daily standups and cross-site meetings.
• 4Apply functional professional knowledge sharing to contribute to the overall growth of the teams collective knowledge.
• 5Practice paired programming and test-driven development.
• 6Coordinate within the team to design systems and applications.
• 7Support software products in user environments.
• 8Establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines.
• 9Write and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• 10Support GitHub and GitHub integrations/automation.
• 11Debug common issues in development environments.
• 12Support release processes in pre-production environments.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.
