Android Software Engineer - Trust Experience

Join Airbnb as an Android Software Engineer to develop trust and safety features for their Android application. You will work closely with cross-platform engineers to define and shape the future of the friction framework, which is pivotal in protecting the community and platform from fraud.

• 1Work closely with product and design teams to design and develop key Trust & Safety features on the Android app
• 2Collaborate with iOS and Web engineers to develop foundational, cross-platform solutions
• 3Contribute to the teams core metrics such as developer experience, velocity, debuggability, performance, and reliability
• 4Partner with Airbnb product teams to understand pain points and drive adoption of paved path tooling and frameworks
• 5Participate in all phases of software development including architecture/design, implementation, and testing
• 6Support teammates in enabling code quality, operational excellence, and shared learning

• 1-2 years of industry experience in native Android development
• Bachelors and/or Masters degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
• Experience creating and maintaining Android libraries/SDKs
• Experience in the Fraud/Trust domain is a plus
• Extensive experience with Kotlin, Android Applications, GraphQL, and REST APIs
• Strong engineering and coding skills with a solid understanding of client networking, performance, caching, client storage solutions, accessibility, and asynchronous programming
• Strong communication skills and experience working closely with other engineering teams
• Experience with Compose, testing frameworks, 3rd party SDKs, frontend build/CI systems, observability tooling, or developer environments is a bonus
